Birds, Beards, & Brews - by John Fellows
13.03.08
Who doesn’t like art, live music, and a couple beers here and there? On First Friday, April 4th, the Icelantic Gallery is holding an art opening (party, dare I say) with live music by FullStop and new work by John Fellows. In addition to a bunch of new original artwork, there will also be some screen prints and a limited edition Icelantic t-shirt sold that night as well as the amazing work of Travis Parr spread throughout the space like always.
If you haven’t heard of The Icelantic Gallery or been to their gallery yet at 948 W. 8th Ave in Denver (8th & Kalamath), April 4th is going to be a great time to do so. Icelantic is an amazing ski company right here in our own back yard thats about to explode! The graphics on their skis are unmatched in the ski industry. The Icelantic Gallery is commited to supporting local and action sports industry artists. Their gallery provides a space for these creative individuals to display work, perform, collaborate and promote the synergy of art and sport.
As for the music, FullStop developed out of a unanimous love of the melodious soul, funk, jazz, and groove music of the 1970’s, Full Stop’s uniquely stated jams and songs not only take you back to the heyday of one of the greatest eras of music, but put a fresh twist on the music’s rebirth brought upon by
such bands as the James Taylor Quartet, The Greyboy Allstars, Soulive and Galactic.
