EL ORIGIN DEL CAPITAN AMERICA EN ESPANOL

By: Juan Alberto De la Roca

WARNING – IN SPANISH WITH NO SUBTITLES

Interesting to think about how a Cold War symbol like Capitan America and the story of his origins is translated into another language…

Part 2

COMMENT

  1. Can someone let me know whats going on? This makes my head hurt.

    Captain No Sense
  2. Dude…it does make sense. Your clearly just not curious and imaginative enough to understand how. It’s ok, we know the Internet is a scary place. Maybe your not ready to ween yourself from television yet.

Do you have one a license to write whatever you want on Joyengine.com?

    Yes/No…

Well I do…so get use to the jibberish. Cause its not going to stop.

    Hope you feel better.

    Juan
  3. Not hating dude. I would just like to participate, this sort of segregates me is how I feel.

    Captain No Sense
  4. Not hating? Come on now, be honest. You are, and its based on your own insecurities.

How are you not participating in Joyengine?

There are a total of 26 contributers, of which I am one who happens to be bilingual. You get over 90% of your content in English, including from myself. Most of my posts have been in English. Not to mention there are plenty of other sites out there that can meet your comfort levels.

    How exactly are you segregated?

Your placing too much emphasis on your own needs. Joyengine posts are MY creative space. I can tackle anything and express myself in any way. Its my chance to work things through in my head and share them with others who also appreciate Spanish, or any other language.

Plus I see it as a way of reaching a significant portion of the U.S. population that is bilingual, not to mention Latin America. Readers of Joyengine come from all over the world.

Maybe you could try and feel inspired to learn a new language or simply grow as a person and appreciate the world in a bigger light. Or you can crawl into a your personal cave of fear. Choice is yours…

Again, this isn’t going to stop. So feel free to skip over me. I’m ok with that…

BTW, something in my gut tells me I know you. So shame on you for not contacting me directly if this is the case.

    Juan
  5. Im not sure why you are being so defensive. Im only doing what you say you are and stating my opinion. I respect that you are trying to spread culture. I also think that there is something you feel guilty with and thats why you are telling me things in the way you are. For someone who talks about understanding and appreciation you aren’t doing a good job of giving the feeling to me. You must also feel guilty thinking that Im someone you know. I like this site a lot and only wish to have understanding in the information thats being shared. Thank you for understanding otherwise sorry.

    Captain No Sense
  6. I think all Berto is trying to say is be a little more open to different shit. This little cartoon is kinda a fresh way to see things from a different angle without being too forward. Plus the animation style is super rad! I think I actually saw this when I was like 8!

  7. Nothing to apologize about, continue to enjoy the site at your leisure. The occasional post in Spanish (or any other language) isn’t taking away from your user experience. Its opening joyengine up to more people if anything…

Do you realize this clip was the work of Jack Kirby? One of the most prolific Marvel artists. He and Stan Lee did a lot for social change in the 60s. The Marvel universe, with its diverse collection of superheros, helped breakdown stereotypes among young people coming of age in an era of REAL segregation. So finding it in Spanish added a whole new element to what the clips means to me….

As far as feeling guilty…I’ve got confession at the church by my house to take care of that.
