FOOTWEAR DESIGN….
15.08.08
Although I tend to post mostly art related things, personal scribbles and illustrations, most of my time professionally is spent designing consumer product. From Footwear and apparel, to packs and equipment, I create some of the stuff you buy at the local snowboard shop or get at REI. The bummer of it all is though, that I am always working on it 16 months before it hits the streets. Because of this, I have to wait a while to show much of my work to the public. Bummer.
While recently doing a little portfolio update, I realized I should post some of it, even if it is not super current. If there is interest, I’ll continue with more posts documenting the process of making “things” for mass production, as well as giving some insight as to how all this stuff that fills our closets with actually gets made. I have been fortunate enough to be involved in all aspects of the process, and think it may be of interest. Here’s a few concept renderings I did for Converse for the basketball and cross training lines. I’ll get more process stuff going next week as time permits…

These are sick, what were they done in? Photoshop, or did you get nasty in Illustrator?
August 15, 12:07 pm Justin ClineKrez goes both ways… Photoshop & Ill. Fresh!!!
August 15, 12:18 pm TEEBEEYeah man…a good combination of both. All the texture stuff isn’t too easy in Illustrator, so photoshop is the weapon of choice… And the Wacom CintiQ makes it a better process for sure.
