Showichi Kaneda: I made “Human’s Own” series which look like a formula car because the shape of a shark and a Formula car is similar and I think a car racer is the symbol of human. What I would like to tell you through this work is that we, human beings, have to go ahead, even though the way is ambiguous and sometime we are scared and anxious. Of course I want people to make their own story and enjoy their own imagination through my sculptures, too. I am very happy if my sculptures are racing in many people’s hearts. The speed is 300km/hour.

With the economy in shambles and the media preaching fear like it’s their job, shit’s gettin’ crazy. One thing to be on the lookout for this holiday season… clients. They come wearing many disguises, talking big game, and spewing all sorts of… well, often just spewing. So, here’s a little tip to all the idependent professional creatives out there, when they(clients) feel compelled to tell you just how deep their pockets are - odds are they’ve got short arms. That’s it. Deep Pockets - Short Arms. Heard that one from a buddy the other day, and it couldn’t be more dead-on. Take it or leave it. Just be on the lookout for anything remotely resembling a baby seal wearing high-end denim. It’s probably not what it seems.
