tres birds workshop has designed and built a limited run of the rolling paper. It is a device for gathering , archiving, and reviewing active concepts.  The aluminum constructed frame accommodates a 4ft x 120 ft of heavy weight drawing paper suitable for washes, charcoal, pastel, pen, ink, markers, spray, and pencil.  we use it as an active concept board, allowing for intuitive sketches, collage, ambiant / passive client presentation.  the paper can be rolled in either direction by turning the cast hand-dials.

Kindling; New Works on Paper and Canvas,

By: Oscar Woodruff

James Jean’s solo exhibition at the Jonathan Levine Gallery in NY, NY opens this Saturday, the 10th.  This will be his first solo show of what I suspect to be many more to come.  Illustrators should take note.  In recent years James Jean has been consistently setting the bar and it is mighty.  Whether it be  Fine-Art, or Commercial Illustration; his work is a tip-top standard with an aesthetic style in and of itself.  Truly Authentic.  The show is open to the public so it may be in your best interest to check it out if you find yourself in the neighborhood.  Doors are open from 6PM to 9PM.  Sneak peaks can be viewed at processrecess.com.

With the economy in shambles and the media preaching fear like it’s their job, shit’s gettin’ crazy.  One thing to be on the lookout for this holiday season… clients.  They come wearing many disguises, talking big game, and spewing all sorts of… well, often just spewing.  So, here’s a little tip to all the idependent professional creatives out there, when they(clients) feel compelled to tell you just how deep their pockets are - odds are they’ve got short arms.  That’s it.  Deep Pockets - Short Arms.  Heard that one from a buddy the other day, and it couldn’t be more dead-on.  Take it or leave it.  Just be on the lookout for anything remotely resembling a baby seal wearing high-end denim.  It’s probably not what it seems.
