TIM TSUI x LI-NING x MILK MAG=EARTHDAY CHINA?
17.04.09
Having worked in China for a good part of my career (building products), and currently working for a Chinese brand, it was stunning for me to see a sustainability movement such as Earthday taking place in the big country on the other side of the Pacific. Now don’t get me wrong, I actually feel privileged to work cross-culturally, and love the opportunity to travel there…but lets just say it is not the GREENEST place on Earth. We’ve all heard about the Beijing smog, the garbage problem and the packed cities…but it’s cool to see that the worlds largest producer of goods is even THINKING about something like this. Celebrating Earthday. They (and we) have a lot of catching up to do..especially to places like the EU, but you gotta start somewhere, right?
Chinese sporting goods brand Li-Ning (founded by the hero of Chinese Olympic fame), Milk Magazine (Hong Kong) and Tim Tsui teamed up to bring awareness and launch a new “green” initiative for the brand . Sick sculptures..and a good message. Let’s hope it catches on.
