The Kaminetski Case by Kristian Kluver.

Behold Kluver’s “Kaminetski Case,” conceived, designed and fabricated by Kristian Kluver circa 1997. At some point in 1997 while working under maser fabricator Jim Nelson at Nelson Design Detail, Kluver decided he wished to take on new challenges at the multi-disciplinary Boulder based design firm, Communication Arts, founded in 1973 by Henry Beer and Richard Foy. In an effort to obtain a position at the coveted design firm without uttering a single word to a single human being Kristian began work on “Kaminetski Case.” Over the course of roughly one month Kristian designed, fabricated and assembled the one of a kind portfolio case. During the design phase Kristian met Solom Kaminetski. While on a return flight from New Jersey, Solom, a rabbinical studies profesor and Kluver struck up a converation. It was during this conversation with Kaminetski that Kristian sorted and structured a number of his working concepts. Upon his return to Boulder the case was fully realized and named after Mr. Kaminetski for his creative contributions.
Shortly after completion, Kristian humbly walked into Communication Arts and dropped the “Kaminetski Case”(portfolio included) on the receptionist’s desk. He then turned around and walked out. The delivery of the case was shortly followed up by a phone call from Communication Arts offering Kristian a job. Kluver proceeded to work at Communication for 6+ years before beginning his freelance design career.
PLEASE NOTE: The Kaminetski Case is currently out of stock.
