Scientists find bugs that eat waste and excrete petrol

This article is awesome…if these genetically altered bugs are the future of “renewable petroleum” it’s going to piss off the large oil companies.

The research and development company LS9 claims that this “Oil 2.0” will not only be renewable but also carbon negative – meaning that the carbon it emits will be less than that sucked from the atmosphere by the raw materials from which it is made.

Just think, if this really does work in the future and gets to the point where individuals can have their own bug farms in their homes, households will be able grow their own oil for car fuel.
