WHITE SPACE 2008

By: Todd Berger

DWR’s White Space, benefitting the Boulder Museum of Contemporary art, featuring Alex Henry, Laura Moretz, Scot Lefavor, Melanie Yazzie, Alvin Gregorio and Julia Lunk provided for a super arty and entertaining evening.  A big thanks goes out to Ryan Batch for pulling the event together and in tip-top form.  All of the participating artists kicked out great pieces of work in roughly two and a half hours, barring Lefavor of course, who was only about an hour late (not that Scot’s famous timing hindered his work…).  The silent auction raised a solid chunk of loot for the museum and six people went home with nice new pieces.  While I’m biased and love most anything my design/business partner, Alex and pals Scot and Alvin produce I gotta say Mr. Gregorio took the cake on this one.  When it comes to producing live art, preparation is king.  Have a look.

FIXIE’S TO LEFAVORS…

By: Todd Berger

Yep.  We’re doin’ it.  SBD and I.  Ridin’ fixed gears to Lefavor’s to celebrate our independence - from oil, or something like that…  This may be my last blog post.  So, Happy 4th!!!  If we make it… we’ll be meetin’ up with Alex and Mr. Shaeffer and takin’ in 7 cities worth of fireworks from Scot’s roooftop deck, Hopefully… droppin’ in on DJ Z Trip, hittin’ up Shitty’s show at The Shoppe, poppin’ in on Andenken, kickin’ Saturday at the “Super Fresh Block Party” - and gettin’ all arty with Lefavor and friends. Independence Day… hmm…

CYPHER13 TEAM: NEW WEBSITES

By: JoyEngine

The crew behind cypher13, Alex Henry, Lucian “small-but-dangerous” Foehr, and teebee, just wrapped up their new microsites.  They’re fun and they were fun to make.  Well for the most part, Mr. Henry handled all the animation and well… got a little nippy near the end, but whatever.  More from cypher13 coming soon - the new c13 site should drop by mid April.  Oh yeahhhh!!!

teebee,

NEW ILLUSTRATION by ALEX HENRY

By: JoyEngine

Alex Henry, one of JoyEngine’s founders, has been crankin’ out some super fresh new illustration. Alex’s new illustrations are all graphite based, then scanned and colored digitally using both Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. Odds are good that there’s more on the way, so start getting used to Mr. Henry’s latest style. Enjoy.

NEW ILLUSTRATIONS COMING SOON…

By: Todd Berger

My friend and partner (business partner), Alex Henry has been working on all sorts of awesome new personal illustrations. They’re really starting to come together. He’s tends to keep pretty quiet in regards to his personal illustration, I’m continually harping on him to throw ‘em out there…  While this one is conceptual and far from complete, I thought it was rad so I’m droppin’ it.  Hope you like it.

NOTE: I’ve found that recently the term “partner” is often interpreted to mean “sexual partner” whereas a decade ago it’s safe to say that was not the case.  In the past the term “partner” was almost explicitly interpreted to mean “business partner.”  I think the modern misinterpretation is a good thing.  Seems like people in general are becoming a bit more accepting of other people having “partners” as opposed to husbands or wives.  Anyway…

GLAMOUR SHOTS OF ALEX HENRY

By: Lucian Foehr

Believe or not, there was a point in time when our business partner and art & design ally, Alex Henry (new website on the way) dreampt of being a famous male model… little did we know, until today when we found all of Alex’s headshots on one of our old Macs. Upon taking this up with Alex he was a bit flustered and a little uncomfortable. He soon came clean and revealed his dream. It’s kind of personal so we’re gonna keep it ourselves, but we will share some of his better headshots with you. Enjoy.

NOTE: Alex is our resident Photoshop retouching expert. We chose to post the raw, untouched pics just to sting him a bit.
