Recently I had the opportunity to interview two of the dopest dudes and dj’s, Curt and Josh of Flosstradamus. I met these guys last year at Rock the Bells and after seeing them perform had a brief conversation basically saying that they needed to come back again. Well they did, my friends and I danced like crazy, and I got a chance to catch up with them. 2009 has been a good year for them and there is much more to come from these two. For thier mix entitled “3 peat” click here, and for thier latest single with Caroline Polacheck from Chairlift entitled “Big Bills” click here. Enjoy!!!!
I recently had the chance to interview Asher Roth. I came upon him via his mixtape entitled “The Greenhouse Effect,” with Don Cannon and DJ Drama, which is off the hook!!! You can download the mixtape for free by clicking the link above. One thing I can say from hearing his music is his skills are undeniable, second and more importantly, with Asher Roth, what you see is what you get. He is a truly down to earth and humble artist, and it’s those qualities along with his skill that will keep him around for a minute.
We caught up with Brooklyn musician Theophilus London while he was on tour here in Denver. I caught wind of his mixtape entitled “This Charming Mixtape” about a month ago while I was in New York and can’t stop listening to it!! My man is getting all kinds of love from other artists, magazines, blogs, and fans everywhere. All I’m saying is after you watch the interview click on the charming mixtape link to download the free mixtape. Peace!!
What’s up everyone? Here is another interview with Shwayze. Awhile back I heard there single “Buzzin,” at the time I loved the sound because it was very different from a lot of the stuff I was listening to. I never judge a band or musician until I listen to the full album, after hearing theirs I was impressed. All this being said I had to have an interview with them, check it out.
JoyEngine contributor Anthony Hull just wrapped up a rockin’ interview with Dj Skeet Skeet while he was hanging out in Denver. Check out Dj Skeet Skeet’s site for other cool stuff.
The Holidays are here and to be real I’m tired of getting whack shit every holiday season!! So I put together a list things I need for the holidays, but I know they are fresh enough for others to want them too. My homies at Ins+allation and Sa+ellite let me shoot at their shop and I found some fresh shit!!!! Check it out!!!
Our boy, Anthony Hull is one of the most legit dudes up on his shit that we know. There aint no frontin’ with homeboy. He reps what he believes in and lives it for real. In a world of copycats and biters he’s one that’s stayed true. And, he’s goin’ places because of it. From kicks to hip hop, bball to acting, hosting to interviews like the one below with The Cool Kids – Mr. Hull is on top of his game. Check him out kickin’ with some of the hottest new hip hop sound comin’ outta Chitown – The Cool Kids.
Our “man,” Anthony Hull dropped some new Alife’s off at the shop for a little customization. SBD got all over a pair of Chaser’s with his signature “BABY-EATER” pattern and some custom “Eat Babies” type set in his very own typeface, SBD001. We’re assuming Ant’s gonna be stoked to “crush the streets” in these sukkkkahs! Nasty.
Big”Ant” Hull, host of Mania TV’s Rapper’s Delight and The Hit List dropped a pair of Blazers by for some customization, albeit minimal. It was dope to get up on some kix for Anthony. Ant’s been busy holdin’ down some serious interviews with the likes of Aesop Rock, Guru, and the Grammy award winning MC, Chamillionaire. Over the course of Anthony’s young and burgeoning career he’s interviewed a seriously heavy cast of characters. You can check out most of Mr. Hull’s interviews here. Homey is a busy man and makin’ moves. Looks like it’s time for us to tackle the 2 pairs of Alifes he plopped on us last week.
