365 Opening Recap @ 111 Minna

By: sAne

So between preparing for the show, spending a week out in the Bay, only to come home right in time to perform at Sonic Bloom, it’s been a crazy start to my summer to say the least, but I was finally able to retrieve my images from the opening of 365, which was held at 111 Minna Gallery in San Francisco. with special guests on many creative planes, artist Kris D & ArtNowSF brought together a finely tuned showcase of work from all over the country, and threw a totally legit opening party within the gallery. Featured artists included Kris D, Damon Soule, Gregory Euclide, David Choong Lee, Joshua Mays J Garcia, David Hale, Des10, Rob Pellicer, Xavi, and Myself. Oliver Vernon also made an appearance doing some performance painting, and on the multimedia tip Third Peak brought in great sculptures, and I performed a Visual Set featuring remixes from the show. Musical acts were Daedelus, Free the Robots, Gaslamp Killer, Deru, Alex B, Eliot Lipp & more; they kept the place packed & bumping till late night. Overall the show was super fresh, and I’m humbled for receiving the opportunity to partake in the gathering. Note: if you happen to be in the Bay there will be a closing reception on Friday, June 27th. ArtNowSF brings you a very special edition of their monthly art & dance party Suite Jesus, from 9pm-2am. Performers include VinRoc, I-Vier, Ren the Vinyl Archaeologist, Bootleg, and Adam Twelve.

sAne/BOTWIN - SUITE JESUS 365

By: Todd Berger

We’re stoked to announce that our good friend, Adrien Robert (sAne) will be showing at 111 Minna Gallery in SF, for ArtNowSF’s Juxtapoz sponsored Suite Jesus 365 group show & music event. Alex Botwin, another Boulder super-hero beatmaker/producer will be reppin’ on the musical side of the event. The exhibition opens Thursday June 5th and runs through June 28th. sAne had his first ever solo show here at JoyEngine, and we’re pretty amped about his ascent in the art world. Both Adrien and Alex are two young talents to keep your eyes on.

Here’s the lodown on 365, “365 features a provocative variety of contemporary art from a diverse group of 14 of the country’s most forward-thinking, contemporary, nouveau-surreal and abstract modern artists. Featured artists include co-curator of the event Kris D, known for live painting and inventive graphic landscapes; Damon Soule, a contemporary artist whose paintings have a galactic, future-forward sensibility; and Oliver Vernon’s furiously creative studies in color and perspective. 365 also showcases the amazing talents of David Choong Lee, Jason Alberto Garcia, Gregory Euclide, Ethen B. Luce, Des10, Rob Pellicer, David Hale, XAVI, Third Peak, Adrien Robert (Sane), and Joshua Mays.

A defining element of the 365 group show is the music-fueled element of live art, allowing audience, musician and artist to intersect and ultimately integrate the creative process and widen the art’s communicative scope. The auditory experience at 365 opening features a staggering mix of national talents in genre-bending sounds from electro to breaks to indie-jazz to house-soul to live music in Minna’s two rooms of art and music. In addition this month, sAne will further synchronize the multitude of art by dropping a live VJ set, featuring his own original animations, but also including some remixed content from the other visual artists.

The OPENING PARTY line-up, from 6pm-2am, includes Eliot Lipp’s  first ever live performance featuring Alex & Lane of the Pnuma Trio, Daedelus, The Gaslamp Killer, Deru, Free the Robots, Alex B, Odd Nosdam, Jel, DJ Centipede and DJ Pedro. Then on Friday, June 27th, ArtNowSF brings you a very special edition of their monthly art & dance party Suite Jesus, from 9pm-2am. Performers include VinRoc, I-Vier, Ren the Vinyl Archaeologist, Bootleg, and Adam Twelve.”

Pretty fresh.
