Our friend Chris Cox of Changethethought™ (CTT) has been up to his usual designerly hustle. Chris was recently invited to participate in part of North East England’s annual design festival. Chris will be in Sunderland, England exhibiting at the Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art. The show entitled, Think Tank pairs leading international designers with Britain’s leading think tanks in a collaborative effort to imagine how the Brits might create a better nation. Quite brilliant. Extra high, high-5s from my partners and I to Mr. Cox.

NOTE: The above image is not to my knowledge part of the aforementioned exhibition. It is an older poster design of Chris’s that I’ve always reaped a great deal of enjoyment from. I think it speaks to the inherent value of integrating an individual such as Chris into an exhibition with goals as lofty as those of Think Tank.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Barack Obama effectively clinched the Democratic presidential nomination Tuesday, based on an Associated Press tally of convention delegates, ending a grueling marathon to become the first black candidate ever to lead his party into a fall campaign for the White House.
Campaigning on an insistent call for change, Obama outlasted former first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton in a historic race that sparked record turnout in primary after primary, yet exposed deep racial and gender divisions within the party.
The tally was based on public declarations from delegates as well as from another 16 who have confirmed their intentions to the AP. It also included 11 delegates Obama was guaranteed as long as he gained 30 percent of the vote in South Dakota and Montana later in the day. It takes 2,118 delegates to clinch the nomination.
The 46-year-old first-term senator will face John McCain in the fall campaign to become the 44th president. The Arizona senator campaigned in Memphis, Tenn., during the day, and had no immediate reaction to Obama’s victory.

Our buddy Christopher Cox, the designer behind changethethought, has been seriously busy crankin’ out consistently good work. Atop his day job at Cactus(one of Denver’s most prestigious creative firms), his freelance career, and time spent in the gym(I can’t think of any other talented designer who frequents the gym… I said “talented”), Chris still manages to contribute to the art and design portal that is Changethethought – and in a big way. So, here’s a stash of some of Mr. Cox’s latest poster designs. You can find more print design, along with type, web, illustration, and all sorts of other crafty goodness in the work section of his site.

Our friend, fellow Colorado graphic designer, Chris Cox of ChangeTheThought just cranked out some great Barack Obama posters. Chris was asked by the local Colorado chapter of the Obama For America Campaign to take on this lofty taks and he certainly rose to the occassion. Chris kept the final files, small in file size, but large in content so they can be easily downloaded, distributed, wheat pasted, whatever… What an awesome project! All of the poster designs are available for DOWNLOAD on the Obama section of Chris’s site. Go get ‘em and show some support! Cox sure did.

Chris Cox is a busy man. With Cactus blowing up, he’s been bouncing around the country quite a bit. Regardless, he’s still up to his same old obsessive creation of awesome digital imagery, and it’s all pretty damn great. Have a look at some of Chris’s more recent self-promo projects. The typographical “Change the Thought” piece could very well evolve into a run of limited edition screen prints. We’ll see…

Chris Cox, one of Denver’s finest, just wrapped up a stash of new designs/illustrations for some pretty heavy musical acts. Have a look and see what it takes to work with the likes of The Killers, The Postal Service, The Sounds, and Death Cab for Cutie. To see more of Chris’s work, check out his personal site here.

Our boy, Chris Cox, yeah the same Chris Cox recently featured on juxtapoz.com, just sent over some pics of a couple of paintings he recently wrapped up. They’ll be on display for your viewing pleasure at IndyInk’s “Belly Full” group show tomorrow night. I’ve been fortunate enough to have followed Chris’s recent ascension into the world of painting. Mr. Cox is motivated, making moves, and droppin’ bombs of his own (arty little bombs) as if you didn’t already know… and homey can paint. You saw it here. So, bottom line is this, you know Chris Cox the graphic designer – meet Chris Cox the artist.
Here’s a chunk of the verbage that accompanied Mr. Cox’s email, “They are pretty serious in tone but I am pretty serious in tone about how totally fucked I think the preemptive war in Iraq has been.” Wordup Chris. Count on seeing a whole helluva lot more paintings outta Mr. Cox in the near future. Until then, peace the EFF out.

We had a copy of The Onion laying around the office and we saw this ad on the back cover. This campaign is all over the place and we love it – so we decided to share it with all of you and give props to the Cactus and Chris Cox (their art director). Keep up the good work! Yo, if you’re not in the know, the star of the show in this piece is The 400’s very own Kris Fry.

For starters I’ve gotta say Chris Cox is a really stellar guy. Aside from being a spectacular, illustrator, graphic designer, ad guy, and website designer – Chris can paint. I have proof. I, well we (the greater JoyEngine posse) now own a Cox original. Chris and his wife Alex came down to kick it yesterday and shoot the design-life shit and they left us with a painting. How fucking rad is that, right? The newly acquired Cox painting topped off a really great art weekend. Saturday night I took my Mom and Sis (who just happened to be in town) down to Dave’s gallery (Limited Adddition Gallery) for the Blaine Fontana opening where my Sis kicked down and bought me an early b-day present in the form of a Fontana print (you can see it below – JR picked one up too). I grabbed Lucian’s Ryan Bubnis painting that he picked up from Limited Addiction’s inaugral group show – which is Awesome! To really ice the cake Dave handed me a copy of BUA’s new book, “The Beat of Urban Art” upon leaving his gallery. Dave had BUA sign the book for me prior to his latest show at Limited Addicition (which I missed due to less than ideal time management and a heavy workload and subsequently feel like a real jack-ass and like I missed a major opportunity to be really, really inspired – I guess I’ve got the book though). Thanks Dave. Oh, prior to that we hit up the new Denver Art Museum where I think I drooled so much all over one of Murakami’s pieces on loan to the museum from the Logan’s that it’s now ruined. Sorry, Takashi. From there hit the The 400 to show off the shop to the fam and get them a peak at the rafajenn.com piece I recently acquired (which is unfuckingbelievably great by the way) Pretty arty weekend, eh? I think I’m beginning to understand why I’m broke… art?
