Our ultra-crafty homies over at Denver’s Legwork Studio just wrapped up a hot new site for old school skate brand of infamous urethane shredding lore – Vision Street Wear. The site boasts some super rad features including some real fresh video integration. I gotta say, I particularly like the inclusion of the “Vision Crew.” The Vision Crew is “made up of some of the newest, freshest, most creative thinkers and creators out there,” and includes another good friend and fellow Colorado artist/designer, Christopher Cox of Changethethought. Cruise the site, it’s inspirational and really well done.

This evenings speakers include Rick Griffith (MATTER), Chris Cox (Changethethought), Aaron Ray (Legwork Studio), and Ian Coyle (Superheroes, Inc.). Should be a fun and intriguing discussion.

I was attempting to catch up on some reading yesterday, making a bee line for Fareed Zakaria’s article in a recent copy of Newsweek. Opening the magazine to the obnoxious subscription card bonanza in the center, I uncovered a political illustration by Victor Juhasz that caught my eye. Upon closer inspection, I could have sworn that the defaced poster of Barack Obama was that of local designer/artist/blogger Christopher Cox. Heading straight to changethethought, I discovered that it was in fact Chris’s image. After contacting Mr. Cox, it is now apparent that his permission was never sought, nor was credit given. You can read his thoughts on the matter HERE.
It’s unclear who’s to blame for this, but either Victor Juhasz or some misinformed designer at Newsweek is about to get a baptism by fire in copyright law. Below is the Newsweek spread, followed by Chris’s original image. It really makes you wonder how often people get away with this sort of thing. Boooooooooo.

Our friend Chris, over at ChangeTheThought just released a stellar array posters. They’re 24″ x 36″, on heavy 100lb True White Paper, and according to Mr. Cox, they’re printed to near perfection. Get ‘em while they still last!!!
