A TOAST TO SCOTTY

Scotty has this crazy ability to open toys. He jiggles the boxes, smells the glue, squeezes the packages, sits back and then gets the toy he wants. It’s pretty crazy. I’ve watched him pick through the Dunny Azteca series, our new Gloomy blind box, and yesterday he rocked the FatCaps. He didn’t get the magic ticket (you win a years worth of spray paint from Montana) but he did get the mystery figure. I swear, he probably sleeps in a bed of mystery figures. And it’s contagious. He roused me from the back office and I ended up going for the whole Moofia series (7 of 8, I have a bit of a hot hand myself). So heres to you Scotty, you lucky bastard. May your luck continue and spread to all those in the near vicinity.

SUPER NASTY GIANT DUNNY PARTY!

KID ROBOT threw what’s being called by many in the industry “The Best Toy Party Ever!”. They partnered up with the Downtown LA Standard Hotel, and by the likes of the pics we’ve seen - threw down. I wonder if a good chunk of the excitement had anything to do with the release of Kid Robot’s new sneaker collaboration: JB Classics x Tilt x Kidrobot. They look fresh and we can only imagine the kinda kicks collabs comin’ in the future.

DUNNY AZTECA SERIES

Things got a little crazy at the shop today. Scotty and Davey rolled in and destroyed a box of Dunny Azteca series. To be honest, when we first got the promo poseters I was a little doubtful. The series just seemed random and I wasn’t sure how the toys would look, but I can safely tell you that I was wrong. All the designs are from latino artists curated by HQRT. These are sick, so many accesories and additions for each figure. The details are spot on, ya they’re well done and all the designs are tight and look great on the figures. Despite today’s frenzy we’ve yet to see second mystery figure. And I have a call into KidRobot regarding the discrepancy in water-cans…

Dunny goes south of the border with Azteca Dunny Series!

Curated by Headquarter in Mexico City, the Azteca Dunny series showcases some of the hottest names in Mexican art, fashion, graphic design, music, and industrial design. The brightly colored series captures the creative passion of Mexico’s artistic community. The objective of the series was to bring to the surface the very essence of Mexican street arts, underground culture, and diverse history.

Artists featured in this series include:
Artemio, Beast Brothers, Carlos Dufour, Ed Sison, El Muerto, Jenkah, Saner DSR, v.m.06, Queque Rangel, Mocre, Kraken and N.A.H.U.A.L.

These aren’t all the figures, obviously, just the ones we opened for display purposes. Shitty Kitten just bought a grip of them. Oh and the red one is a mystery figure. Hot.
