SHITTY KITTEN IS DOPE!

By: JoyEngine

Yeah, sure. I’m a little biased… the dude is my super arty homie and all. But yo, Markham Maes can draw, um, like really, really well. I found this little gem as I was browsing through the archives tonight. This is a drawing of Shitty’s daughter Lilly around the time when she was learning how to crawl. I checked the info on this file and I found that it was created on January 20th, 2005. By the looks of it, it appears that this particular drawing was done on a napkin. Which would lead me to believe that we were probably kicking it at a bar. The memory is a little foggy, but I assume that homeboy drew this with a pint of beer in one hand and a clove in the other. Which, as I now recall, means that he drew this with his left foot while the right was sending the 8 ball into the corner pocket with just the right amount of pocket speed. Dang, can’t beat that shit. Like whoa.

“SASQUATCH” SEEN AROUND THE SHOP

By: JoyEngine

Sasquatch, “The Last Bastion of Hope.” Thanks to the collaborative efforts of the EHF Collective and JoyEngine/Cypher13 we’ve brought “Sasquatch” to life. Our Sasquatch is special. He’s on a twofold mythical quest to save us from both Goerge Bush and ourselves. He will be visiting “Big Box” retail chains like Walmart and others nationwide and preaching on the benefits of racial discrimination, child labor, low wages, poor health care, the creation of consumable crap and how to ruin America. Look for Sasquatch to visit a “Big Box” near you. If you see him while buying your TP, a crappy TV stand, or your toxic household cleaning supplies please be kind enough to give him a shout out for the JE/EHF crew.

FATE ‘07 STREETWEAR

By: JoyEngine

EHF Collective & the JoyEngine / Cypher13 team rallied hard on a quick collaboration with Alan Ortiz & FATE in prepartion for SIA. FATE’s bringin’ an almost entirely hand-drawn style to the table this year – with the Exceptions of Lefavor’s last minute FATE-Rubix edition. Sick right, right?

SHITTY KITTEN HANDLES IT.

By: JoyEngine

Markham “Shitty Kitten” Maes has fully handled his new JoyEngine mural. Markham is an inspiration to us all. He’s comin’ up to the shop today to collab on some new Cypher13 work with Lefavor and myself (TB). Keep February 9th open cause you don’t wanna miss Markhams upcoming show, “Sight Beyond Sight”, here at the shop. It’s gonna be really, really rad. Markham has not had a solo show in over a year and he’s frikin’ amp’d about it. I’ve had a chance to spy some his new work, and damn, it’s hot.
