LOOFT, DOO & GROOND visit THE SHOPPE!

By: JoyEngine

Josh Holland’s furries, for SOFT&FURRY™ went on walk-about earlier this week and wobbled their way over to the Shoppe to soak up some java, cupcakes and typography.  They invited cypher13 to tag along and the boys we’re more than ecstatic to accompany them. More on the furries and their adventures into the great wide world of design soon!!!

NEW DIY BLANKS from CYPHER13…

By: Todd Berger

To round out the S&F™ DIY toy line created exclusively for our toy exhibition at the Plastic Chapel, we’ve added a stash of DIY goodness (along with some help from GROOND) as well as some mystery kits…  They’re cute and fun.  We hope folks like ‘em.  They’ll be in play tomorrow night along with a stash of some of hottest most original customs from all over the golbe - that we’ve ever laid our eyeballs on.  And, yes we’ve got some paint on our eyeballs from laying them on the toys…

MIKE GRAVES x SOFT&FURRY™

By: Todd Berger

Mike Graves has all three of our S&F™ DIY toys, LOOFT, DOO, and GROOND.  We’ve been super anxious to see what Mike’s been up to, as he’s one of our favorite artists, particularly when it comes to customizing toys.  We just got out first glimpse of GROOND, and the painting that accompanies him.  Frikin’ great shit!!!  Mike kills it.  We can’t wait to see what he comes up with for LOOFT and DOO!!!

SOFT&FURRY™ LINE-UP EXPANDING…

By: Todd Berger

GROOND’s been hard at work cultivating his little BABY BOOMERS.  He also finished hybridizing his latest strain of fungus, Psuperpsilophalocybin.  More on those trippy little boomers soon…

Psuperpsilophalocybin in the lab...

S&F™ - Psilophalocybin aka “BABY BOOMERS”

By: Todd Berger

GROOND has been in the c13 lab (under cypher13’s supervision) tinkering a bit in preparation for S&F™’s public debut.  He’s been bio-engineering a new breed of fungus, Psilophalocybin, more commonly referred to around the lab as “Baby Boomers.”  GROOND’s new fungus is intended to assist both he and LOOFT in their earthly duties… cleansing the soil and purifying the air.  Psilophalocybin has proven to exhibit accelerated soil detoxifying capabilities in tandem with rampant carbon dioxide processing, resulting in the production ultra-rich oxygen.  The project has been so successful that GROOND, LOOFT, and DOO intend to collaborate as a team this very evening in an effort to produce an even more robust fungus… Psuperpsilophalocybin.  We’re keeping our fingers crossed.  More soon…

WARNING: Magical

JOSEPH SHAEFFER X SOFT&FURRY™

By: Todd Berger

Our studio mate and regular collaborator, Joseph Shaeffer just wrapped up his contribution to the SOFT&FURRY™ exhibition at the Plastic Chapel.  Gotta say it’s one of my personal faves.  Joe spent a couple days clamping and aligning GROOND on the mill, machining out some recessed little nooks and crannies and integrating a number of custom accouterments.  His backpack (not visible in the photo) is frikin’ amazing!!!

SOFT&FURRY™ - SEPT. 13TH - PLASTIC CHAPEL

It’s official.  LOOFT, DOO, and GROOND have traveled around the world and made it into the hands of some of our favorite artists.  They’ll be returning in a couple weeks to get ready for their debut at the Plastic Chapel on September 13th.  We hope to see you all there!!!

TOKO x SOFT&FURRY™

By: Todd Berger

We just caught a glimpse of the very first S&F™ completed custom.  This amazing typophilic version of GROOND comes from TOKO in Sydney, Australia.  Awesome… like a little dream come true.

SOFT&FURRY™ - LOOFT and DOO and GROOND

By: Todd Berger

cypher13’s latest art/toy endeavor, SOFT&FURRY™ is moving along at a blistering rate.  The S&F™ logo design contest is in it’s final week.  Deadvolt of Copenhagen, Denmark dominated week #7 with a super awesome logo treatment.  Thanks Adam!!!

And so, It’s time to drop some toys - all handmade, all hand-cast, and totally “man”ufactured in-house.

Please say hello to the cast of SOFT&FURRY™: LOOFT and DOO and GROOND!

This is their tale…

The soft and furry are very, very old.
They have been since here was here.
When here was new, there were the three.
LOOFT helped all to breath, DOO helped all to drink and GROOND made all things grow.
The three were one.
Many creatures, both large and small, of water, of air, and of land arose.
They breathed the air, they drank the water, they fed on all that grows.
They took only what they needed.
But one such creature took too much.
This creature misunderstood the natural code.
Green things grayed, blue things blackened, and clear things turned to cloud.
Those who were soft and furry, hardened with gloom.
The three may be soft and furry once more.
But, for now their hardness has saved them.
LOOFT helps all to breath, DOO helps all to drink and GROOND makes all things grow.
The three are one.
None can live without them.

SPECIAL NOTE: Keep your eyes peeled for an extra-special S&F™ collab with regular JE contributors, artist extraordinaires, and mega-plush magicians, Josh Holland & Shannon Bonatakis!!!  Oh yeah.
