WEB DESIGN/BUILD 1.0

By: Todd Berger

Krezel sent us a pretty spectacular link to an old post on PingMag, a Tokyo based magazine about “design” and “making things.” I finally got a chance to review it, and while dated (published in 2005) it’s super awesome. The website design and development process is often confusing for many designers and clients alike. There’s all sorts of ways to go about attacking a web-based design project, some better and more tried and true than others. The process detailed here on PingMag is definitely rudimentary, but in its simplicity hits on all the main areas of consideration. Whether client, new designer, established designer, web super-hero, or whatever you think you are… it’s worth a read. The accompanying photography is pretty brilliant and helps to make a rather dry subject fun and new.

THE ASIAN SAGA CONT…

By: Todd Berger

Seems like our James Clavell inspired illustrative asian saga just might go somewhere… If it does, it’s gonna be rad. Imagine this… it’s the year 1600 – feudal Japan – the Portugese have arrived – trade is about to begin – samurai rule! – Europeans are about to get schooled in class and culture… now throw in some super awesome crazy characters, lots of rainbows, some lightning, battles at sea… and on land, giant monsters… Anyway, Krez whipped another illustration, this time a samurai, threw in his original geisha, and we took some additional liberties.

MORE FROM ASIA – KREZEL IN BANGKOK

By: JoyEngine

Krez just got back from Asia and a recent round of product development and snapped some fresh pics on his stop over in Bangkok, Thailand. JR and I have some homies over there, and a number of ‘em get up pretty hard. Krez thought he spied one of our boys work and had to take some pics. Turns out it wasn’t anyone we knew, but nasty cool stuff nonetheless. Asia is rad. If you’ve never been, make it a point to get the hell over there soon. We’re fortunate that a number of peops in our extended crew get to spend time over there and send us such great pics. I miss my days in Bangkok immensely and these pics quell the yearning to get over there, well, a bit. Thanks Krez. Njoy.
