THE GROUP SHOW AT ANDENKEN

Andenken Gallery is pleased to announce their upcoming show “The Group Show” featuring an all-star cast of characters from home and abroad. There are some serious heavy hitters in this show! Just to name a few… Ian Millard has really got some fresh work coming up, Kill Pixie has some super detailed amazing work, Alexone’s paintings always impress and the Magnet Mafia has been gettin up after it. Also, Tom just informed me of a 20×40 Fafi piece that’s on it’s way from France today. So, duh, Come on down to the Block Building at 2990 Larimer Street this Thursday night for another awesome evening of art, drinks, good folks and ping pong! Be sure to check out Beauty And The Street for a preview of the show. See you there!

MAGNET MAFIA - CUSTOM TOTES.

The Magnet Mafia have been mixing it up lately.  They’re crazy busy with all sorts of their usual magnetic steez, live painting, continuing to help build creative community in Denver, and as of late… tote bags.  Our Magnetic homies just sent over some hot pics of their latest project for an upcoming show in NYC.  hard to say if totes can get any more burly than these suckers.  Dope stencil work!

TEEBEE X MAGNET MAFIA - AUSTRIA

We hammered out a grip of magnets for the Magnet Mafia’s Austrian invasion.  This magnet by TEEBEE found it’s way on to a local televsion set.  Pretty hot placement.  The Mafia’s blowin’ up!

MAGNETIC LOVE FOR THE MAGNET MAFIA!

We were super stoked to be invited by our pals runnin’ Denver’s infamous Magnet Mafia to bust out some custom painted magnets for their upcoming Austrian Exchange. Tha Mafia has teamed up withe the Spondere Art Collective in a really rad international collaboration. 50+ painted and otherwise customized magnets to be put up in the street will be shipped to Austria along with 50 blanks. If our understanding of the project is correct, the 50+ poainted magnets will stay in Austria and another roughly 50 magnets will be customized by Austrian artists and shipped back to Denver for graffiti. Harrison and Matt get an A+ on concept and organization. We’re just excited to be a part of the project.

We got down on our magnets last night…

MAGNETMAFIA IN THE HOUSE!

Sooooo, Harrison, yep, Harrison of Denver CO’s MAGNETMAFIA was in the house on Friday night for sAne’s opening. We finally got to meet, kick it, talk shop and get a little nasty after dark. We we’re super stoked that we all got to finally meet Harrison, he’s a really rad dude, he and his crew are up to some super dope shit, we’re fully down with their program and definitely hope to hook up with those guys more often.

If you’re not familiar with the MagnetMafia or they’re deal - read this and soak up their agenda. It’s really frikin’ fresh:

“Basically we paint and produce art on magnets and then put those magnets up in the streets of Denver and other cities using magnetism! They look good on the fridge too! Our goal is to continue to experience the joys of magnetism with artists and enthusiasts and champions from all over the world. We are commited to building an international network of artists and family members dedicated to supporting the use of magnets as canvases. We are the originators of mass magnetized street art. Capiche?” - MagnetMafia

ARTOPIA WAS A GAS!

Once a year the community gets together and throws an art/food/fashion event called Artopia. This year myself and a few other from the posse, had the opportunity to be invited to participate. At first I wasn’t quite sure of the whole thing, being that is was being held at a club, but within the first hour or so my entire concept had changed. My emotions ran from nervous to exicted to buzzed. The fact that it was an open bar probably assisted those steps along. I was given the gracious opportunity to be invovled directly with The Fabric Lab’s fashion show which by popular word, “killed it.” So much that they won the 2007 Mastermind’s Award for design/ fashion. The event had a ton of local artists work on display, dancers, fashion shows, local food vendors and close to a thousand interested Colorado peeps to witness the whole thing. If anything, the moral of the story is that it brought everybody out to celebrate artistic expression and community. None of this would have been possible with out our close friends from The Fabric Lab, Josh and Tran. Thanks to everyone, for a great time and a new experience.

We’re a little short on pics right now, but we promise we’ll round up some more and fill you in.
