MATTHEW DOUBEK & SAMUEL MOBLEY

By: JoyEngine

Matthew Doubek and Sam Mobely are very close friends. They’re also both great artists. Their most recent collaborative show, entitled, Letters from Our Backyard at Pirate Gallery was a sight for sore eyes. Collaboration doesn’t always come easy. Ultra-creatives tend to hold on to their own aesthetic ideals quite closely. Often times what makes individual artists great hinders their potential to work with others. We can confidently state that this was not nor is the case with Matt and Sam. Their individual works were spot on and their collaborative works were even better. Collabs work best when the parties working together each bring something unique to the table. Matt and Sam did just that. See for yourself.

NOTE: A good majority of the remaining works we’ll be making their way to the Engine very shortly. So if you’d like a closer look, you’ll be able to have one real soon.

MATTHEW DOUBEK NOW SHOWING @ JOYENGINE

By: JoyEngine

We’re very proud and excited to announce that Matthew Doubek aka “Krap Masters Studio” is now showing at JoyEngine. Matthew is a master at exploiting the potential of mixed media. His work is highly illustrated and filled with detail driven by the varying media he integrates into his work, from acryclic paint, to enamel, pen and ink, to magazine cut outs and silkscreened elements. Matthew’s work looks spectacular photographed and displayed online, but to experience the true energy and depth of Matt’s work you need to be in front of it 4real. I’m sitting 6″ away from one of Matt’s pieces as I compose this little piece, and I’m honestly dumbfounded. Thanks Matt.

You can find a nice sample of Matt’s work for sale in the “Original Artwork” section of our online store.
