DOOMTREE Redesign

By: Lifter Baron

After weeks of working with DOOMTREE in collaboration with Sevnthsin, it breaths. We fed this thing a ton of functionality and wrapped it in a clean and tidy aesthetic with the hopes that their little fingers would type away and fill the somewhat lonely pages with words of wisdom and tears of joy. Hahaha. Maybe not ALL of that, but still something like that would be swell. Take a minute and slide on over to what I’ve (Lifter Baron) spent a portion of 2009 on. Hopefully it doesn’t bite you, this bad boy is a beast.

OUR MESSAGE OF HOPE

By: Lifter Baron

Here is another holiday piece from both, Sevnthsin and Brew in Minneapolis. It has a little different flavor than that of Thrashin Santa, but still resonates with our season’s greeting. Make sure you take a peek at the user gallery and make your own mash-up to share with all your homeys.

“It’s been quite a year. Between a seemingly endless election and a worldwide economic crisis, our screens have been filled with the same familiar faces repeating tired campaign buzzwords and sobering economic sound bites. After all that bad news, we thought you could use a more uplifting message for the New Year.

So we’ve taken those faces and sound bites and created a mashup that we call “Our Message of Hope.” After you view our film we’ve provided the tools for you to easily create your own message to enjoy and share. From serious to absurd, express yourself.

In the new year, may all of your news be good news.”

Minneapolis Preview

By: Lifter Baron

To give everyone a quick look at my wonderful new city, I sneaked as close as I could to one of the bridges to get this swell pic. Although this is not out my back door or off of my patio, it’s just on the other side of the city. I promised to get some flicks of our pad with all of our our growing collection of art, and after we get totally situated and furnished I can post a somewhat modest collection of images. It’s mostly, if not all, comprised of CO based artists but still holds more weight than some of the illest stuff around. Maybe all of us can do a little mini version of cribs and show off our art collections and diabolical lairs. Who knows? Anyway, I’m sure it’s needless to say, but there will most definitely be more to come. Stay tuned and stay fresh kids…

BABY EATERS SEEN IN MINNEAPOLIS

By: Lifter Baron

Witnesses say that this is the first time they have seen this seemingly sinister imagery on the calm streets of Minneapolis. Others say they have seen it before… One elderly women reportedly saw similar characters on the bus stop sign, a police car and on hipsters handbags. If you ask me, its no coincidence at all. I know the dastardly deeds of these artsy mercenaries and its no joke. First you see these “Baby Eaters” on the streets of your favorite neighborhoods, then on the clothing and accessories of your chums. Then the next thing you know it, its on your cereal boxes and in your underwear. If you ask me, its the beginning of an invasion. The mastermind behind the creation of these little creatures is of course Small But Dangerous, one of the 3 elite that run this very blog. But, don’t take it from me. Look around at the place you live, the place you call home and tell me what you see… Not even Superman himself could save us from these creative villains.

ROBOT LOVE: DUNNY TRADING SHOW RECAP

By: Lifter Baron

Celeste and I recently took a little precursor trip to Minneapolis to check the city out before our big move. We were only there for 3 days, but the city undoubtedly spoke to us. Aside from being cold as shit, it seems to have a really great creative community with plenty of galleries, museums, architecture, food and super friendly people. We had a decent sized list of things to check out on our trip and Robot Love just so happened to be up on the top. We cruised by to say howdy and check out their selection of vinyl goodies. From the looks of it, they have a pretty damn good one at that. We found T-shirts, blind box goodies, Poketo wallets, plush, limited and rare vinyl along with some super rad prints. While there, we were reminded that the Dunny Trading Show was that same Thursday. We were kinda pissed about missing all the fun stuff going down here in Denver on that same night but made it an opportunity to check out what the Minneapolis Dunny fanatics were like. Saying that, I’ll leave you with a little taste of some of the things to come from our soon to be, Minneapolis vantage point.
