OGI AT REAN!!!

By: Lucian Foehr

Our boy in Tokyo, OGI!, sent over pics from his latest show at Rean. It looks like he went all out with some awesome installation components. The little sculptures are amazing, I would put money on somebody having his own toy in the near future… We still have some of Ogi’s pieces here at the gallery, so if you’re dying to see some in person but can’t make it to Tokyo, come on by!

OGI ART FROM TOKYO BONUS!

By: JoyEngine

ogi1a.jpgWe were lucky enough to inherit all of Ogi’s pieces that didn’t sell at his recent show at Stripes Gallery. They’re all hung on the opposite side of Jon Lew’s “NEW” show, so be sure to check ‘em out if you come out on Friday night. If you’re unfamiliar with Ogi’s work, he’s an artist living in Tokyo and has shown at the likes of the Giant Robot gallery, White Walls and Kidrobot, Los Angeles. We are unbelievably happy to have Ogi’s work on display (and for sale).

P.S. If you haven’t been by lately, we also have some larger than life pieces from Jason Thielke’s “Young Dude” series, plus a Thielke x Rafa Jenn collab! And, oh don’t forget… there’s always at least one Lefavor on display. Yeah Scot!!!
We love you Ogi, Jon, Jason, Scot and Rafa!

OGI ART IN DA HOUSE!

By: Lucian Foehr

Ogi’s show at Stripes Gallery just came down. Luckily for us, myself, Jason Thielke and Shannon Bonatakis purchased some pieces and they were delivered to the shop and we got to spend all day with them (through bubble wrap)!

OGI + JOSIAH LOPEZ - RECAP

By: Alex Henry

Ogi and Josiah Lopez both showed at Stripes Gallery. It was our first time at Stripes, we really dug the atmosphere. Josiah Lopez is a Denver local, we last saw his work at the Friends Show last year. It looks like he’s exploring some new directions, we’re excited to watch his new style develop. Ogi flew in from Tokyo a week before the show and completed the two large pieces at the gallery. Both the bodies of work were amazing and a pleasure to check out. Now that we’ve met the Stripes folks, we’ll keep you updated on their upcoming shows.

OGI - STRIPES GALLERY TONIGHT!

By: JoyEngine

Ogi was born in Tokyo and relocated to the bay area to study illustration. He’s now back in Japan and showing internationally. Some of his more recent exhibitions have been at such esteemed venues as Giant Robot, Receiver Gallery, White Walls, and Kid Robot. Ogi will be showing tonight at Denver’s Stripes Gallery at 3309 Blake Street. We highly recommend checking out his work.

And, since we know you’ll already be out on the town and heading over to the Plastic Chapel to view our good friend Josh Wills show entitled, “Consume + Create”, it shouldn’t be too tough to bring your arty selves over to stripes gallery afterwards. Have fun.
