Rafa Jenn will be releasing the screenprint below for BiRDS, his show at Open Space Gallery on September 13th. The idea of Rafa Jenn showing work and Scaffolding playing the after party just really blows my mind.

The forever mysterious Rafa Jenn, splitting time between Barcelona & Denver has just dropped a new super-limited 30″ x 10″ giclee print. Only 12 prints were produced and they’re sure to go fast, given Rafa’s cult-like following. The prints are $80.00 ea. They’ll be available this coming Friday, June 6th, at Edifice Gallery’s upcoming “Fashionista” show, an exhibit of fashion influenced art.

We were lucky enough to inherit all of Ogi’s pieces that didn’t sell at his recent show at Stripes Gallery. They’re all hung on the opposite side of Jon Lew’s “NEW” show, so be sure to check ‘em out if you come out on Friday night. If you’re unfamiliar with Ogi’s work, he’s an artist living in Tokyo and has shown at the likes of the Giant Robot gallery, White Walls and Kidrobot, Los Angeles. We are unbelievably happy to have Ogi’s work on display (and for sale).
P.S. If you haven’t been by lately, we also have some larger than life pieces from Jason Thielke’s “Young Dude” series, plus a Thielke x Rafa Jenn collab! And, oh don’t forget… there’s always at least one Lefavor on display. Yeah Scot!!!
We love you Ogi, Jon, Jason, Scot and Rafa!

Rafa Jenn impressed everyone Friday night with his incredible drawings of super hot girls and intricate butterflies, not to mention his limited edition prints. In typical Joyengine fashion, the opening was a blast and Mr. Jenn sold a good chunk of his work (which you should get your hands on soon if you can; this guy’s gonna be big). If you weren’t able to make it Friday night, you should definitely make it over here as soon as possible to see Rafa’s work. His drawings are unparalled in skill and technique, and each of them seems to carry its own personality. For all of those of you who have seen the show, you know what we’re talking about. It’s like having twenty-four hot girls in the office for the rest of the month….

Rafa Jenn’s show “Pin-ups” is coming this friday at Joyengine and even though Mr. Scot Lefavor has given us a sneak peek to some of Rafa’s work, it is up to YOU to come see the rest of what he has in store for us. His drawings are super sick, not to mention the killer opening that we will be holding at the shop in his honor. If you aren’t able to make it to Boulder on Friday, there’s some pretty other dope shit going on like “Belly Full” at Indy Ink in Denver. A group show featuring artists like Lifter Baron, Huth, Mike Graves, Kris Fry, Alex Meyer, Dave Palmer, and Chris Cox, the show will featrue a lot of artists, a ton of new art, and should be tons of fun. So why not try to make both?

Rafa Jenn will be showing an all new body of work entitled “Pin-Ups” in the form of 50 “NEW” drawings on September 14th. We regard Rafa pretty highly around here and we’re honored to have his work adorn our walls. We can’t wait, you can’t either. Trust us. Turntablist SYMMETRY will be on the decks in typical JE fashion, PBR’ll be flowin’, and there’ll be a shit ton of stellar new art. Stop on by and soak up Rafa’s steez, we guarantee you’ll be stoked!

For starters I’ve gotta say Chris Cox is a really stellar guy. Aside from being a spectacular, illustrator, graphic designer, ad guy, and website designer - Chris can paint. I have proof. I, well we (the greater JoyEngine posse) now own a Cox original. Chris and his wife Alex came down to kick it yesterday and shoot the design-life shit and they left us with a painting. How fucking rad is that, right? The newly acquired Cox painting topped off a really great art weekend. Saturday night I took my Mom and Sis (who just happened to be in town) down to Dave’s gallery (Limited Adddition Gallery) for the Blaine Fontana opening where my Sis kicked down and bought me an early b-day present in the form of a Fontana print (you can see it below - JR picked one up too). I grabbed Lucian’s Ryan Bubnis painting that he picked up from Limited Addiction’s inaugral group show - which is Awesome! To really ice the cake Dave handed me a copy of BUA’s new book, “The Beat of Urban Art” upon leaving his gallery. Dave had BUA sign the book for me prior to his latest show at Limited Addicition (which I missed due to less than ideal time management and a heavy workload and subsequently feel like a real jack-ass and like I missed a major opportunity to be really, really inspired - I guess I’ve got the book though). Thanks Dave. Oh, prior to that we hit up the new Denver Art Museum where I think I drooled so much all over one of Murakami’s pieces on loan to the museum from the Logan’s that it’s now ruined. Sorry, Takashi. From there hit the The 400 to show off the shop to the fam and get them a peak at the rafajenn.com piece I recently acquired (which is unfuckingbelievably great by the way) Pretty arty weekend, eh? I think I’m beginning to understand why I’m broke… art?
