The 400 – BETTER & BETTER w/ BUTTER

By: Todd Berger

Our pals at The 400, Denver’s premier purveyor of select and limited edition kicks have done it again.  This time they’ve gone and consolidated both shops into one seriously mean sneaker/streetwear boutique and moved the mothership over to 1535 Platte.  We stopped by for a visit last week and we’re pretty blown back.  Staying true to their alliance with the boys at DoubleButter, they’ve teamed up once again to  bang out their new space – and in a mere 3 weeks.  The build out is brilliant, and even if you’re not into sneakers (which would suck for you) you oughtta stop by just to scope the finishes and trim details. DB and The 400 pulled out all the stops and really did the place up right.  Oh, and they’ve got a new website poppin’ any day now.  So stay up on that.   Congrats gentleman.  Your hardwork, committment, and purist dedication doesn’t go unnoticed.  Respect.

UNDRCRWN x OBAMA x THE 400

By: Todd Berger

Premium apparel and footwear company, Undrcrwn is bringing its basketball-inspired graphic twist to Denver for the Democratic National Convention during the week of August 25, 2008.  “Nothing is more basic than our right to vote for our President and we wanted to put our own visual look to the November election to show our support. For inspiration, we brought back Vince Carter’s dunk over France’s Fred Weiss in the 2000 Olympics and combined it with Barack Obama’s smooth game” says Bryon Sheng.

Undrcrwn has partnered with our homies, local Denver retailer The 400 to offer this tee to the public during the Democratic National Convention.  The much talked about tee shirt will be released nationally in September 2008.

Proceeds from these tees will be split among local charities increasing inner city participation in youth sports.

SUPER TEAM 33 RELEASE – The 400

By: JoyEngine

The 400 will be hosting a super rad release party for the New Balance Super Team 33 collection on Saturday, March 1st. You might be thinking, “What is Super Team 33? Well, here’s the deal… Out of the 6 New Balance factories in the USA, one of the best is located in Skowhegan, Maine – a district famous for its shoe manufacturing. From the engineers in the factory, a special production line was built, made up of the best 28 workers and 5 craftsmen (longest career 25 years, total career of 33 workers: 265.5 years). The collection made from these talented workers was named “Super Team 33″, because of its production line #33, and because of the total number of workers on the team. They value “high quality” and “aggressiveness”, and create the best quality shoes in New Balance.

There only 33 stores on planet earth that carry this product. The 400 is one of 8 in the US!

AARON RAY “PRETENDER” RECAP

By: JoyEngine

What a show! Our very own JE Contributor Aaron Ray crushed it, the work was awesome, the titles hilarious and the wall is up there in my top 3 for The 400. We got to catch up with the likes of Chris Cox, Mike HYP, Randy and Fry (of course), SBD’s bro made it down, Stevesey, Scot Lefavor even showed us some bike tricks and the man of the night Aaron Ray. We even got to check out some Hairy Wheels Gravis! The work was crazy affordable, so if you didn’t make it – go buy some art! Awesome job Aaron, we can’t wait ’till your next show!

THE 400 ON LARIMER (MORE SNEAKER STEEZ)

By: Lucian Foehr

We know it’s pathetic, but we finally had the opportunity to visit the 400’s newest shop on Larimer. You’d think we’d have made it down there by now. Regardless, we were super stoked to get to see the shop and hang out with Kris Fry, lead 400 designer/good pal, and one of the master minds behind the 400’s explosive growth. The new shop is HOT and we’re proud to show it off on behalf of our homies. We didn’t make it to Double Butter’s opening at the 400’s Bannock shop last Friday (be sure to check it out if you get a chance), but the DB duo worked closely with the 400 on the interior of their new Larimer spot. Check it out:
