cypher13 - FEATURE INTERVIEW at TOYCYTE

By: Todd Berger

Toy guru, extra-rad guy, and Editor-n-Chief of Toycyte Jeremy Brautman recently interviewed us (c13).  He wanted to know a bit more about SOFT&FURRY™ and get some inside cypher beta.  We’re seriously psyched to have been interviewed by Jeremy, and featured on Toycyte alongside so many amazing artists, designers, and brilliant little vinyl, and plastic, and wood, and resin figures.  Toycyte, is where keep our urethane covered little fingers (at least as of late) on the pulse of the toy world.  It’s really wonderful to have some of our stuff up there.

You can read the interview in its entirety here: cypher13 featured on Toycyte

Jeremy Brautman and HUCK GEE - $$$

By: Todd Berger

Legendary toy customizer, Huck Gee has been takin’ some heat as of late over the high prices of his super custom toys.  Our pal Jeremy over at Toycyte got down with huck to get the lo-down.  Huck’s prices are totally justified, if not low.  Customized toys are art, just like a painting, or an inked illustration, or a more traditonal piece of sculpture.  Toy sales to some degree are driven by all the wild customizers out there, customizers like Huck.  If you can’t afford the best the toy-world has to offer, stick with the off the shelf models.  After all, even those are limited editions. Just don’t cry when an artist gets paid what he or she deserves.  Read the interview here…

MIKE LEAVITT - THE ART ARMY

By: Todd Berger

Jeremy Brautman from Toycyte just turned us on to some brilliant work from Mike Leavitt, the creator of The Art Army…  pretty mind-bending stuff.  Mike designs and produces, all by hand, hyper limited edition replicas of his favorite artists.  To get the whole low-down you really oughtta read Jeremy’s interview with Mike.  You can see video footage of Mike in action below. Being in the midst of our first run of totally hand-made designer figures makes what Mike’s doing that much more grandiose in our eyes.  This sorta shit aint easy.  We’ve been thinkin’ we’re on to some pretty cool stuff, but Mike’s work is on a whole different level.  Thanks Jeremy!
