AS SEEN IN PORTLAND…

By: Brian Krezel

Just made a quick trip up to PDX this weekend, and had a chance to drop into the Upper Playground store. Great shop, a killer art gallery and good folks manning the place. The best, though, were the Barack Obama posters in the windows! The Morning Breath poster, below, was badass, but unfortunately Sam Flores’ offering was obscured by a wicked reflection in the window! Check the upper playground site for prints….sorry for the janky photo, as it was actually sunny in Portland.

By: Mark Siebert

In an ongoing effort to secure Democratic hopeful Barack Obama’s presidential bid, The 008 and Upper Playground have collaborated with Brooklyn-based Morning Breath to create a new limited screenprint of the duo’s portrait of Obama. The Morning Breath poster is part of an ongoing series of artist collaborations in support of Barack Obama’s presidential campaign.

DATE FARMERS x UPPER PLAYGROUND x OBAMA

By: JoyEngine

The Date Farmers, an amazing duo of artists and sons of date farmers, have produced a limited-edition set of 300 campaign posters, to be sold via Upper Playground in support of Barack Obama. All proceeds from the sales of the Date Farmers’ Obama 2008 screen print will go directly to creating more campaign posters that will be distributed throughout Texas. The hand made, limited-edition, signed and numbered campaign posters go on-sale Thursday, February 20th, 2008.

“On March 4th, 2008, Barack Obama has the chance to secure the Democratic Party nomination for President by winning the delegates in both Texas and Ohio. We at Upper Playground are pleased to announce our support of Barack Obama in 2008. For too long we have been plagued by mediocrity and incompetence at the Executive level. As an international company, we feel that it is time to support a candidate that truly embodies the American spirit in both his campaign and his ideologies. We believe that Barack Obama is that candidate. ” - Upper Playground

We’re with UP on this one!

Ah yes, the delicious sounds of Super Mario World for all to hear!

“The complete soundtrack to Super Mario World, covered by one man using dozens of instruments. Roughly in game order, faithful to the originals, with some bizarre artistic license thrown around. A private hobby made public.”
